Oops, I did it again

A search for pea plants mendel gets this glowing AI summary:

Gregor Mendel is known as the father of genetics due to his pioneering experiments with pea plants. He chose pea plants because they are easy to grow, have a short generation time, and exhibit distinct, observable traits, allowing him to track inheritance patterns effectively. Between 1856 and 1863, Mendel conducted extensive experiments, crossing pea plants with different traits, such as height and flower color, and discovered the fundamental laws of inheritance, including the principles of dominant and recessive traits. His work laid the foundation for modern genetics, demonstrating how traits are passed from parents to offspring.

His Wikipedia page says in part:

Mendel worked as a substitute high school teacher. In 1850, he failed his exams' oral part, the last of three parts, to become a certified high school teacher.
After he was elevated as abbot in 1868, his scientific work largely ended, as Mendel became overburdened with administrative responsibilities...

He died in 1884. His work was "rediscovered" in 1900. He appears to have gotten essentially ZERO recognition as a scientist during his actual lifetime.

In spite of my Note to Self , I messed up and posted a comment again in a different discussion. I regret it.

It's fine to want female role models in things that interest you. I've certainly looked for that:

But that's not really what these women want. They want to claim that any credit denied a woman is done with malicious intent rooted in misogyny and couldn't possibly be due to novel ideas being difficult to prove.

Men also struggle to get recognition, adequate pay, etc.

Anyway, I double-checked and, no, I don't belong to that reddit. I unjoined it already because I don't like wading through knee deep poo and fundamentally don't agree with the thrust of most of what gets said there and I'm certain I'm not actually welcome there.

Must try harder to find some way to stop making this mistake.
